“MANOJ DAS'S WORLD AND ART” AND THE LAUNCH OF A MEMORIAL VOLUME IN HONOUR OF
PROFESSOR M.Q. KHAN AND PROFESSOR D.K. RAY

Held on 11 JULY 2021

The Researchers’ Association, Odisha organised a one day webinar on 11 July 2021 at 10:30 am with Professor Bijay Kumar Das, President of the Association in chair. At the outset, Professor Das delivered the Welcome Address. Dr. Sonali Das, Associate Professor of English, F.M. University, Balasore introduced the guests - Prof. R.W. Desai (Delhi University), Prof. Rajnath (University of Allahbad), and Prof. C.R.V. Rao (former Vice Chancellor, Vikram Simhapuri University, A.P.). Prof. R.W. Desai and Prof. C.R.V Rao, launched the Memorial Volume in honour of Prof. M.Q. Khan and Prof. D.K. Ray. Prof. Desai appreciated the laudable work done by the Researchers’ Association, Odisha. Prof. C.R.V. Rao made an in-depth analysis of 18 'Write-up' included in the volume. In the plenary session Prof. Bijay Kumar Das delivered a lecture under the caption, "The Achievement of Manoj Das as an Ambilingual Writer and Indian Scholar". Prof. Rajnath Chaired the session. Prof. Das spoke of Manoj Das as an Ambilingual Writer, Editor and Indian Scholar of Indian Mythology. Prof. Mohan Ramanan, Prof. Prashant K Sinha, Prof. B Parvati, Prof. B.N. Patnaik, Dr. Satya Sindhu Ghosh, Prof. Shyamala A. Narayan, and Dr. Bilkesh Parveen attended the session along with 61 participants from all over India.

The Paper Reading session was chaied by Prof. Ashok K. Mohanty in which Mr. Umesh Chandra Nayak, former Principal Khaira College, Balasore and Mr. Laxmidhar Panda, former Associate professor, Nimapara College presented their papers on Manoj Das. Dr. Jnan Ranjan Padhi, Dr. Dolan Ray, Dr. Ujjwal Dutta, and Dr. Pravat K. Mishra proposed a vote of thanks in different sessions.

FORTH COMING WEBINAR ON JOHN KEATS

The Researchers’ Association, Odisha will organise a Webinar on "Rethinking Love, Beauty, and Truth in John Keats poetry in the Bicentenary Year of his death" on 22nd August 2021 to pay homage to the great Romantic Poet who is now "with Shakespere". Abstracts in 250 words are invited from intending participants to reach Professor Bijay Kumar Das, the Director of the Webinar by email on or before 12 August 2021.

Prof. R.W. Desai, Prof. Rajnath, Prof. C.R.V. Rao, Prof. Mohan Ramanan, Prof. Prashant K Sinha, Prof. B. Parvati, Prof. B.N. Patnaik have been invited to attend the Webinar and Launch "The Critical Endeavour Volume 27 II 2021" a special number on John Keats.
